Arizona State of English Learners Summit

September 15, 2026 | Antigua Garden Phoenix, Arizona

The Arizona State of English Learners Summit brought together educators, community leaders, policymakers, advocates, and business and workforce partners to strengthen collaboration in support of Arizona’s English learners. Building on an earlier coalition convening, the Summit expanded the conversation across sectors and communities.

Participants examined the state of English learners in Arizona, identified gaps and opportunities, and explored ways to strengthen alignment from early childhood through K–12 and higher education and into the workforce. The Summit emphasized a shared commitment to ensuring that multilingual learners have access to opportunities and support throughout their educational and career pathways.

The event also celebrated Arizona’s multilingual communities through performances by Los Tigres de Tolleson Elementary Mariachi and the Tolleson Union High School Mariachi Band.

Annual AZTESOL State Conferences

The AZTESOL Annual State Conference brings together educators, leaders, researchers, students, and community partners from across Arizona to connect, share expertise, and strengthen the education of multilingual learners. Each year, the conference features professional learning sessions, opportunities for collaboration, and conversations focused on effective practices and emerging issues in English language teaching and multilingual education.

Reflecting AZTESOL’s statewide community, the conference rotates among Arizona regions, with events hosted in Flagstaff, Phoenix, Tucson, and Yuma. This rotating model creates opportunities for educators from different communities to participate, connect with colleagues, and contribute to professional learning across the state.
