Workshop Description
This webinar introduces educators to the concept of Education for Social Changemaking and its connection to global education goals. Participants will explore key principles that support equity and social justice in TESOL classrooms and learn practical strategies for integrating changemaking approaches into lesson planning and curriculum. The session is designed for educators who want to connect global vision with meaningful classroom practice.

About the Presenter
Rev. Erin Tamayo is a bilingual educator, teacher trainer, nonprofit professional, faith-rooted community organizer, interfaith leader, and ordained pastor in the Presbyterian Church (USA). She holds degrees in Bilingual Education and Spanish, an MA in Bilingual Multicultural Education/ESL, a Master of Divinity from San Francisco Theological Seminary, and a Graduate Certificate in Social Transformation from Arizona State University.
Erin has over 15 years of experience in education, including teaching in the Isaac School District and serving as a global educator and teacher trainer for ASU’s Global Launch Program, where she currently works. She received the 2022 Arizona International Educators Award for Distinguished Contributions to Global Initiatives for her work with refugee students. She also has more than 7 years of nonprofit and organizing experience, including faith-rooted and community organizing in Los Angeles and Phoenix and serving as the founding Executive Director of Arizona Faith Network. She is also the founder of ALAS Initiative (Aligned Learning for Action and Social Change) which empowers educators, students, and communities to move from learning to action for a more equitable future.
