Most students who fall behind stay behind—but five percent of U.S. schools are changing that, including multilingual learners. In The Opportunity
Makers, we studied seven trajectory-changing schools where students consistently gained more than a year of learning annually. These schools foster a deep sense of belonging, build consistent instructional environments, and design coherent learning experiences where students know what to expect and how to succeed.
