Professional Background
Dr. Nicole Teyechea D’Alessio has been a passionate advocate for English learners for more than 25 years. Her career spans preschool through higher education, where she has served as a bilingual and ESL teacher, gifted and talented educator, literacy specialist, instructional coach, and district curriculum director in Arizona and California.

As Executive Director and Founder of Finita LLC, an Arizona-based education consulting firm, Dr. Teyechea helps schools and districts turn strategic plans into operational systems that ensure every learner can access rigorous, grade-level content. She bridges leadership priorities with classroom practice, creating clarity, consistency, and sustainable outcomes. An award-winning educator and nationally recognized presenter, she is dedicated to making teaching visible and actionable for educators. Since 2000, she has also taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University.

Dr. Teyechea has served as AZTESOL’s Treasurer since February 2024. Her goals as a board member include:

  2. Strengthening organizational systems to maximize professional development opportunities for members

  3. Promoting equitable access to resources and support for English language educators across Arizona
