SUMMARY:Enhancing AI-Generated Lesson Plans and Language Activities Using Rhetorical Literacy
DESCRIPTION:Enhancing AI-Generated Lesson Plans and Language Activities Using Rhetorical Literacy \nEvent Title: Enhancing AI-Generated Lesson Plans and Language Activities Using Rhetorical Literacy \nPresenter: Nesma Nasr\, Ph.D. Candidate\, Northern Arizona University \nLocation: Online (Zoom link will be emailed to the address provided at registration) \nDate & Time: Wednesday\, December 17\, 2025 | 04:30–05:30 PM (MST) \n\nEvent Description:\nAI-based lesson planning tools are becoming increasingly common—but when prompts are too general\, the results can be ineffective and disconnected from the needs of multilingual learners. This interactive workshop supports educators in creating stronger\, more contextualized prompts through rhetorical literacy. \nParticipants will explore how rhetorical elements—including audience\, tone\, purpose\, genre\, and context—can shape more effective AI outputs for lesson plans and language activities. They will also learn how to apply the rhetorical triangle (ethos\, pathos\, and logos) to critically evaluate AI responses for communicative and pedagogically sound outcomes. \nFocusing on a responsible\, “human-in-the-loop” approach to AI integration\, the workshop includes hands-on practice using laptops and provides both print and digital resources. Educators will leave with practical strategies\, an AI responsibility guide\, and tools to save time while maintaining high-quality instructional design. \n\nAbout the Presenter:\nNesma Nasr is a Ph.D. candidate in Curriculum and Instruction at Northern Arizona University. She specializes in bilingual education and emerging educational technologies that support multilingual learners and the educators who teach them. \n\nRegistration:\nhttps://forms.gle/xz8967xsMQrcjrVB7 \nOnce you complete the registration form\, you will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link. \n\nProfessional Development Certificate Survey:\nhttps://forms.gle/afZYp3jFzUJymSjc6 \nAfter attending the professional development session and completing the survey\, you will receive your certificate via email. \n\nQuestions?
