Professional Background

Dr. Olena Tanchyk holds a PhD in Economics and has extensive experience in English language education, academic English (EAP), and international student support. She works with multilingual learners in higher education, focusing on academic communication, critical thinking, and culturally responsive teaching. Her professional work bridges language education and interdisciplinary teaching, with particular attention to students affected by migration, displacement, and global crises.

AZTESOL Involvement

Olena is a member of AZTESOL since 2021 and is committed to supporting
professional development, collaboration, and advocacy for educators working with multilingual learners across Arizona.

Personal Note

Olena also teaches the Ukrainian language to international students and is a passionate advocate for Ukraine. She loves dancing and previously taught a dance fitness course at Arizona State University. She dreams of beginning a second PhD and hopes to pursue it one day.
