Registration Now Open: AZTESOL 2017 State Conference

AZTESOL 2017 LogoRegistration is now open for the AZTESOL 2017 State Conference! This major educational and networking event for ESL professionals in the American Southwest will take place in Tucson, Arizona on Friday, October 20 (Roundtable discussions & one featured speaker) and Saturday, October 21 (Keynote presentation, other featured speakers, and breakout sessions). This year’s conference theme is Connect, Learn, Grow @AZTESOL and our keynote speaker will be Dr. Fred Mednick, founder of Teachers Without Borders. Other featured speakers include Michelle Doherty (Arizona Educational Foundation’s Teacher of the Year) and Amber Akapnitis (Arizona 2017 PBS Digital Innovator). Poster contest winner for 2016 State conference theme

AZT2016 contest winner detailCongratulations to Aileen Angulo, a student in the SEI II class at Kofa High School in Yuma, for her winning entry in AZTESOL’s contest to design a poster based on the theme of this year’s state conference, “Literacy Across Ages and Languages.” Click here to see Aileen’s complete poster. Runner-up entries were submitted by Yulissa Aldana, Monica Guzman, Edwin Macias, Manuel Manriquez, and Arletter Franco, all students at Kofa High School (in the Yuma Union High School District). Thanks to Kofa High principal Michael Sharp for encouraging participation in this contest with AZTESOL.
