AZTESOL is the Arizona state affiliate of TESOL, the international professional organization for educators in the field of teaching English to speakers of other languages. Since our organization began  in 1954 as the Arizona Bilingual Council, it has provided over five decades of service. Our members work with learners of English in Arizona’s public and private schools, colleges, universities, and adult education programs.

Our Mission

The mission of AZTESOL is to be a leading organization in Arizona where English language professionals at all levels network, advocate, and develop professionally.

Our Structure

AZTESOL is divided into four regions: Northern (Flagstaff and the Navajo/Hopi Nations), Central (Phoenix and the Valley of the Sun), Southeast (Tucson), and Southwest (Yuma). Representatives of each region serve on our Board of Directors, plan local mini-conferences, and provide help with membership and other needs. Go to our Board page to see a complete list of members on our Board of Directors.
